My Career Goals
Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher to make a positive impact on others' lives. Even though I was shy, I have always had a passion for helping people. In November 2023, I injured my knees and was diagnosed with chondromalacia, which changed my whole perspective on life and the importance of taking care of my body. Through physical therapy, I experienced the firsthand support and dedication that physical therapists provide to their patients, and their impact on my recovery inspired me to pursue the same career. I have always been active and involved in sports since I was a little girl, which has fueled my interest in rehabilitation and human movement. My career goal is to become a physical therapist who helps patients regain their strength, confidence, and quality of life while providing the same compassion and support that helped me during my own journey.
My Educational Path
Understanding that becoming a Physical Therapist would require years of dedication and higher education, I made it a priority to challenge myself academically through high school. I attended Murphy High School, ranked #3 in Mobile County, and the only Mobile County High school that offers dual enrollment through the UA Early College program. To prepare for my future college career, I took advantage of dual-enrollment opportunities through the University of Alabama, Bishop State Community College, and the University of South Alabama, earning college credit while still in high school. I also pursued courses related to my career interests, such as IB Sports Education, Health Sciences Class, and Human Anatomy and Physiology. Beyond academics, I remained actively involved in clubs, sports, and other activities around my school. Balancing these commitments has prepared me for the challenges of higher education and built my determination to achieve my goal of becoming a Physical Therapist.
Community Service
I have participated in a variety of community service activities throughout high school, with many of my volunteer experiences centered around supporting children in my community. I have volunteered at elementary school festivals, helped lead a cheerleading clinic for younger children, and assisted in painting a local daycare to create a welcoming environment for the kids. I take pride in giving back to my community and enjoy making a positive impact through service. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while reinforcing the importance of helping others.
